The Sparrow Osteopathic Internal Medicine Residency program utilizes the following cutting-edge technology to improve medical education and patient care.

    

Electronic Medical Records

The residency training clinic is a 'paperless' office using Logician/Centricity EMR and wireless tablet computers.

Handheld Computers

All interns are issued Dell Axim handheld computers loaded with medical software and the e-logs system which allows residents to maintain their patient and procedure logs on the go.

Residency Management Software

New Innovations keeps all resident records on-line, including call schedules, conferences, curricula, and evaluations.

Residency Clinic Evaluations

The residency clinic is equipped with one exam room that has a one-way mirror and another with closed circuit video to allow real-time and asynchronous feedback from faculty.

Standard Reply System

Audience Response System

Weekly board review sessions utilize a wireless response system that compiles and displays answers in real-time and allows improved feedback.

Post-Rotation Exams

Progression of medical knowledge is assessed on a monthly basis utilizing this on-line testing service tailored to the goals and objectives of the rotation.
